Our Write a Book in a Day competition is in full swing, with schools and writing groups around the country writing, illustrating and fundraising to help make a difference for children with cancer.
We are only halfway through this year’s Write a Book in a Day competition, but the creativity and generosity of students and writing groups across Australia is already making an extraordinary difference.
Every page written and every dollar raised is helping bring us closer to better treatments and brighter futures for children diagnosed with cancer. So far, our writers have raised $242,610 for childhood cancer research. That’s 5,134 writers in 890 teams from 320 schools working together to write and illustrate their original stories in 12 hours.
But the story is far from over.
With many writing days still ahead, thousands more writers are getting ready to bring their stories to life. Every team creates a meaningful difference for children with cancer, creating books to be shared in hospitals and raising vital funds to support research.
To everyone who has already written, fundraised or supported a team, thank you. Your creativity, community spirit and passion are helping fund innovative childhood cancer research, giving children the best chance at kinder, more effective treatments.
And to those whose writing day is still to come, we’re cheering you on. We can’t wait to see the stories you’ll tell and the impact you’ll make.
