Introducing the all-new digital achievement badges

Write a Book in a Day, will go to even bigger heights in 2026 as writers right around the country continue to come together and fundraise to make a difference for childhood cancer research.

Write a Book in a Day is the ultimate test of teamwork, challenging writers to create something great within a 12-hour time period. Prizes and awards are up for grabs for state and national winners, as well as fundraising prizes and incentives. 

Having raised over $1.2 million in 2025 alone, Write a Book in a Day writers and groups have shown an incredible ability to make a lasting difference for The Kids’ Cancer Project’s and childhood cancer research – an impact which will be recognised and encouraged even more in 2026 through a number of new digital awards. 

Writers who sign up to get involved can earn digital fundraising achievement badges for hitting key fundraising milestones, with five badges available to collect!  

Early Supporter – Awarded when you receive at least one donation within two weeks of being registered to the competition 

Profile Updated – Awarded when you change the goal, image or text written on your fundraising profile page

First Donation – Awarded when you receive your first donation 

Super Team – Awarded when all members of your team achieve at least one donation 

Raised $80 – Awarded when you fundraise more than $80 on your individual page 

If students earn one or more badges throughout the competition, an Individual Achievement Certificate will be awarded at the end of the competition.
