I would like to thank you for all of your work with this competition, which I believe is the best writing competition available to school students in the state as it builds not only writing, but teamwork skills, has almost instant rewards and also a charitable element.

Working for 12 hours creating a book for charity with a bunch of good natured, professional people was a hoot
when I got home I was completely stuffed!
I think I’ve been in a sugar coma since about lunch time
who’da thought I could get through a whole day without even one bad pun? [Note: subjective opinion]
I still can’t carry things on my right side… but I hurt so much less and the abrasions are already healing
I had heaps of fun and would happily do it again some time (not too soon though)

Thank you for your timely information and advice. The 'fruit salads' thoroughly enjoyed the creating and writing and got a great deal out of the whole experience. Hopefully they will inspire more to enter from our school next year. David Bailey; St Mark's - WA

The SSS students had great fun last Thursday writing their books! Just want to confirm all went well. We finished about 7pm when the mothers started arriving and dragging the boys home. The little ones were so enthusiastic it was a delight to see.
Susan Carrick - St Stephen's School - WA
The last half an hour was very frantic. I have read the story to the older classes in our school and they really loved it so the girls are planning a series of adventures using the same characters. The process of writing the book was very interesting. I suggested to our Principal that the staff should have a go at it some time as their PD day. We will have to wait and see if it happens. It would be a great day.
Rob Gear – Forrestfield – WA
Thanks for this great project our kids and parents loved it.
Donna Gardiner - Mount Lawley SHS - WA
Everything went really well. We didn’t get [the book] in the mail today as we are having open night tonight and thought it would be nice for the parents to see the finished book. Thanks

The Write-a-Book-in-a-Day is a wonderful, fun, team building and writing experience, open to people of all ages with all levels of writing and graphic skills. In the past all teams have written successful books (to most of the entrants' utter amazement) and the majority say they will have another go this year.
Have a look at the other pages, see what teams wrote in previous years and what the judges said, by clicking on the links in the left menu. You may also like to read about the Children's Hospital Foundations and the Katharine Susannah Prichard Foundation (KSP).
